Alderman Melhorn made a motion and Alderman Kasalko seconded to Approve the minutes as presented and have them placed on file. All yes. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION: Minimum Dwelling Size-Accessory
Buildings
ACTION: The Committee discussed the language in the Ordinance and decided to change it to read:
A shed or storage building from 0-150 square feet can be erected to the rear of the house and be no higher than 9 feet from bottom to top peak of structure.
A shed or storage building from 150 square feet to a maximum of 300 square feet can be erected to the rear of the house and be no higher than 15 feet from bottom to top peak of structure.
Alderman Brown made a motion and Alderman Kasalko seconded to Amend Sections, 150.52, 150.84 and 150.04
Minimum Dwelling and Accessory Buildings. All yes. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION: Monotony
ACTION: Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded to Amend Section 157-01 Adoption of Building Codes-Add Monotony Clause. All yes. Motion passed.
ACTION: Alderman Kasalko made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded
To Amend Section 32.47 Plumbing Inspector and Section 157.03.1 Part-Time Inspectors by Raising Inspection Fees $20 per (or 50% of the) inspection, with no less than $1,000 per quarter. All yes. Motion passed.
ACTION: The City Attorney submitted an ordinance concerning the placement of stop signs in certain locations that had been discussed with the police department.
Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded to Approve an Ordinance Regulating Placement
and Location of Certain Traffic Signs Within the Corporate Limits of
Wilmington. All yes. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION: National Incident Management
System Resolution
ACTION: The Will County Governmental League submitted a sample resolution stating that municipalities had to pass this resolution by October 1st to qualify for Federal Homeland Security funds.
Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded to Approve A Resolution Adopting a Local
National Incident Management System. All yes. Motion passed.
ACTION: The Committee decided to add to the policy that liens should be subject to a 6% simple interest if they are 3 months late.
DISCUSSION: Liens for Home Improvements
ACTION: Alderman Gilmour stated that Alsip has a policy whereas before you move you have to make required changes to get your home up to code. Sheryl will reseach.
ACTION: The Committee asked that Sheryl send all changes that involve planning and zoning to all alderman and planning and zoning committee meetings.
ACTION: Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Kasalko seconded to adjourn the meeting at 6:43 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
