ACTION: Alderman Orr made a motion and Alderman Hoppe seconded to open the meeting at 6:03 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
Alderman Hoppe made a motion and Alderman Orr seconded to approve the minutes as presented and have them placed on file. All yes. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION: Scales Ordinance
ACTION: Orr asked McIntyre to review other City ordinances on the scales so the City could receive their share of the fines.
DISCUSSION: Trailer
at Lombardi’s
ACTION: The Committee asked Tate to please find out about the trailer at Lombardi’s. See if Ordinance 76.20 would be applicable to enforce removal.
DISCUSSION: Burn
Ordinance
ACTION: Orr explained that he had researched what other cities do and came up with the attached suggestions. Ordinance 93.25 through 93.32 would be replaced with these suggestions. Orr asked McIntyre to get this information to the attorney to put in ordinance form for review for the next Committee meeting.
DISCUSSION: Building
Code Changes
ACTION: Tate explained that older buildings are not up to current code. He will bring back to the Committee base line suggestions. The Committee also told Tate that he could enforce the 2006 codes as of May 1, 2006.
DISCUSSION: Park
Impact Fees
ACTION: Hoppe stated that she had received a call regarding the impact fee for the park. The current ordinance stated $300 for residential and $150 for duplexes. Research was done with communities that are in the same socioeconomic status as Wilmington. Orr asked McIntyre to look into other cities that have park districts. A question came up about what impact fees could be used for. The current ordinance states that it is not just for capital improvements. McIntyre will research further.
