ABSENT: Studer
NON-MEMBERS
PRESENT: Mayor Roy Strong, City Administrator Sheryl Puracchio, Building Inspector Don Friddle, Finance Director Robin Theobald
ACTION: Alderman Orr called the Meeting to Order at 6:15 p.m.
Alderman Orr made a motion and Alderman Hoppe seconded to approve the minutes as written and have them placed on file. All yes. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION:
Fire Department Reviews of Construction Ordinance
ACTION: Orr stated that he felt this ordinance was
sufficient and after having a conversation with Fire Chief Zlomie that he felt
it should back to council for a vote. The Mayor stated he felt the language was
ambiguous and should be viewed and approved by the attorney.
Alderman
Orr made a motion and Alderman Hoppe seconded to send the Fire Department
Ordinance back to Council for approval. All yes. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION: Building Code Ordinance
ACTION: Orr explained the reason he withdrew this from the final reading was
because he wanted to address the building inspection fees. Friddle will
research and bring information back to the next committee meeting.
DISCUSSION: Bidders Ordinance
ACTION: The Bidders Ordinance was distributed to members but Studer was not
available to discuss. Committee will review for next committee meeting.
DISCUSSION: Storage Container Ordinance
ACTION: The County Storage Container ordinance was distributed. The
Committee agreed this was important and will bring to Council for first reading
at the next meeting, then waive the second reading and pass at the following
council meeting.
DISCUSSION: Parking/Selling Cars
ACTION: There have been several complaints that residents are parking cars all
over their lawns and selling several cars from their driveways, some cars are
not even owner’s cars. Another concern was pole buildings in the downtown area
as well. A big concern was the route 66 roadway. The committee will ask the
city planner to look into designing a special zoning code for the historic and
route 66 area.
DISCUSSION: 48 Hours Notice for Water Shut Off
ACTION: Puracchio explained that Water/Sewer Superintendent Ken Jeffries, Finance
Director Robin Theobald and Water Clerk Donna Jusell, would like to change the
notice to 48 hours since it seems that it gave people enough time to come in
and pay the fee rather than the city having to send personnel out to shut off
water. The committee agreed.
DISCUSSION: Adjournment
ACTION: Alderman Orr made a motion and Alderman Hall seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 p.m. All yes motion passed.
