PRESENT: Orr, Mietzner, Hoppe, Strong
ABSENT: Plese
NON-MEMBERS
PRESENT: Building Inspector Gary Tate, City Administrator Rob Nelis, Executive Secretary Puracchio, Reporter Monson, Charles O’Hara
ACTION: Staff discovered that the Lerfeld trailer is
registered in a different name.
Lerfeld’s mother has been contacted and asked how to proceed with this.
Mr. O’Hara addressed the Committee about his trailer park, a little under 5 acres on North River Road. He is in the process of phasing it out. He has 4 trailers that have been abandoned and 6 occupied. He would like to remove the 4 trailers but states that the way the ordinance reads it is vague. If he removes the trailers then is he required to upgrade the trailer park? After some discussion the Committee directed O’Hara to remove his trailers and meet with Tate about permit issues. The City Administrator will write a memo stating this. The Committee stated that if it is a life safety issue then the ordinance does not apply. The Committee will review this ordinance to see if the language can be clarified.
ACTION: See attached ordinance. Alderman
Mietzner stated that in his unfinished subdivision there have been construction
crews working as early as 7 a.m. on the weekends. After discussion the
Committee would review the noise ordinance at the next meeting. They will also ask Mayor Strong where the
Committee got the information for the existing ordinance and Tate will research
other community noise ordinances.
ACTION: See attached spreadsheet. Mietzner distributed a spreadsheet of surrounding community liquor license fees. The Committee was happy with the rates that the City charges.
DISCUSSION: Miscellaneous Issues
ACTION: Burn Regulations- Orr is reviewing current ordinance. He would like to streamline it as well as regulate what can be burned, supervised burn, and distance from structure, etc. Would like to discuss this at the next Council meeting.
Building Permit Time Frames – This has been discussed in a previous Committee meeting and need to get this discussion back on the table for the next Committee meeting.
DISCUSSION: Adjournment
ACTION: Alderman Mietzner made a motion and Alderman Orr seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:24 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
