ACTION: Alderman Kasalko made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded to open discussions at 5:37 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
Alicia, school bus driver, explained that Gary Van Duyne had approached her at the bus barn about a situation that happened a week ago. She submitted the attached letter from her Supervisor.
After much discussion Alderman Plese asked that Ms. Huerta contact him to set up a meeting to rectify the situation. Alderman Hermes also stated that the school would look into possible signage stating that no vehicles will be allowed in this area during set times to address this perpetual problem. Van Duyne has received a verbal reprimand from the Mayor and Officer Evans will get a clarification of the law from the City attorney.
ACTION: The six months probationary period to this
position was up on September 18. Due to
a wide array of assignments that have been performed the Council felt that the
title should be changed to Administrative Assistant.
Alderman
Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded to End the Probationary Status of the
Executive Secretary and to Change the
Title of the Position from Executive Secretary to Administrative
Assistant. All yes. Motion passed.
ACTION: Alderman
Kasalko made a motion and Alderman Plese seconded to go into Executive Session
at 5:53 p.m. to discuss a specific
employee All yes. Motion passed.
Alderman
Kasalko made a motion and Alderman Plese seconded to come out of Executive
Session at 6:46 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
Alderman
Kasalko made a motion and Alderman Hermes seconded to go back into Regular
Session at 6:46 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
While in Executive Session the Committee decided to place a letter of reprimand in the file of the Police Chief. Alderman Hermes will speak to Sue Johnston on proper office procedures.

made a motion and Alderman Hermes seconded to adjourn the meeting at 6:53 p.m.
