DISCUSSION:           Minutes

 

ACTION:                   Alderman Hermes made a motion and Alderman Gilmour seconded to open discussions at 5:30 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.

 

                                    Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded to Approve the Minutes from the March 14, 2005 meeting as written.  All yes.  Motion passed.

                                   

DISCUSSION:           Generator

 

ACTION:                   Chief Metta stated Larry is still waiting for the transfer switch. The Committee stated that this project needs to move forward immediately.

 

DISCUSSION:           Water Tower

 

ACTION:                   The City is waiting for the building to be torn down.  The estimate the City received from the water tower demolition company, over six months ago, had no deadline. The Committee reviewed the Antenna-Elwood Agreement and the full Council will vote on it at the next meeting.

                                   

DISCUSSION:           Building Tear Down

 

ACTION:                   The Tenn’s Building tear down has been bidded out.  Bids are due by April 20, 2005.  Alderman Gilmour asked to check on the shut-off of the gas and electric services and the removal of all their equipment.

 

DISCUSSION:           New Officer Review

 

ACTION:                   Chief stated that the Officers are out on their own and that Officer Campos will be serving as the School Liaison.

 

DISCUSSION:           ESDA Bathroom

 

ACTION:                   The Committee stated that this will be on next year’s budget.

 

DISCUSSION:           ESDA - Greater Will County Emergency Service Association

 

ACTION:                   ESDA Director Houseman forwarded to the Committee information on joining this organization.  It would cost $50 a year.  The Committee will review the information and make a decision at the next Committee meeting.

 

DISCUSSION:           School-City Intergovernmental Agreement

 

ACTION:                   Alderman Kasalko asked that she would like to have a clause added to next year’s agreement stating that all City Traffic Codes be enforced on school grounds. The Chief stated it was already in the agreement. Alderman Kasalko stated that she was going to look into this matter.

 

DISCUSSION:           Skate Park

 

ACTION:                   Alderman Brown asked if the Police could lock up the skate park at closing time.  The Chief stated that it would be no problem, just get him the key.  The Park already has received complaints of rowdy behavior and littering.

 

DISCUSSION:           Executive Session

 

ACTION:                   Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded to go into Executive Session at 5:47 pm to discuss a specific Personnel Issue.  All yes.  Motion passed.

 

                                    Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Kasalko seconded to come out of Executive Session at 6:00 pm. All yes.  Motion passed. No action was taken.

 

DISCUSSION:           Adjournment

 

ACTION:                   Alderman Kasalko made a motion and Alderman Brown seconded to adjourn at 6:01 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
