DISCUSSION:           Park

 

ACTION:                   McIntyre stated that he, Gilmour and Clennon Electric did a walk through of the Children’s Memorial Park.  Clennon will get back with an estimate and will donate a concrete pole. Evans stated that the police calls have decreased in the last month due to the newspaper article.

 

DISCUSSION:           Tower Update

 

ACTION:                   Soil boring has been completed and they hit bedrock at 18 feet.  Bids will go out this week for antenna tower.

 

DISCUSSION:           Scale Update

                                   

ACTION:                   There will be a meeting with the sales person on Wednesday.

 

DISCUSSION:           Opticom System

 

ACTION:                   Puracchio explained that MFT funds will be paying for the system to be placed on all existing traffic signals in town.  Evans will look into the cost of installing system into the squad cars.

 

                                    Gilmour brought up that the department would like to participate in the military surplus CMS program for $400 per year.  This would give them free access to any equipment being offered.

 

                                    Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Johnston seconded to approve the payment of $400 to enter into the Military Service co-op.  All yes. Motion passed.  

 

DISCUSSION:           Repeater

 

ACTION:                   Gilmour explained that the radio system is weak in certain areas and the addition of the repeater would correct this. It would cost approximately $1,750.00

 

                                    Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Mietzner seconded to enter into an agreement with Williams Communication for the purchase and installation of the repeater.

 

                                    Committee discussed adding to next years budget the cost of a new radio system.

 

                                    Mietzner asked that Evans check on the emergency siren system because in his part of town you cannot hear it if you are indoors.

 

DISCUSSION:           Executive Session

 

ACTION:                   Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Hoppe seconded to go into executive session to discuss personnel issues at 6:02 p.m.  All yes.  Motion passed.

 

                                    Alderman Hermes made a motion and Alderman Gilmour seconded to come out of executive session at 6:32.  All yes. Motion passed.
