August 1, 2006
Mayor Roy Strong, presiding.
The meeting was called to order with the pledge to the flag.
The clerk called the roll finding the following Aldermen present: Mietzner, Strong, Gilmour, Hermes, Johnston, Orr, and Hoppe.
Absent: Plese
Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Mietzner seconded to Approve the Minutes as amended to show Alderman Plese was present, of the July 18, 2006 meeting and have them placed on file. Hermes Abstained. All others yes. Motion passed.
Mayor’s Report: Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Mietzner seconded to Approve the Mayor’s Appointment of Bill Francis and Jim Bentz to the Police Pension Board. All yes. Motion passed.
Citizen’s Comments: There were none.
Planning and Zoning Committee: Next scheduled meeting will be August 3, 2006
at 7 p.m.
Health/Safety/Building/Grounds
Committee: Alderman Orr
reported that the Catfish Day Festival was extremely successful. He thanked the committee for doing a great
job along with the Police and Public Works Departments.
Alderman Orr stated
there will be a Committee meeting on Monday August 7 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss
the downtown visitor center, trailer park, and park property.
Water/Sewer/Streets/Alleys
Committee: Next scheduled
meeting is Wednesday, August 9 at 5:30 p.m.
Police and ESDA
Committee: The next meeting
will be Monday, August 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Finance/Administration/Land Acquisition Committee: The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 15, at 6:30 p.m.
Ordinance and License Committee: Alderman Orr held the second reading of the Residential Inspection Fees and Building Code Ordinances.
Alderman Orr made a motion and Alderman Johnston seconded to approve Ordinance #06-08-01-01, an Ordinance Amending Section 70.15 – Authority to Install Traffic Control Devices- Stevens Lane. All yes. Motion passed.
The next scheduled meeting is for Tuesday, August 8, at 6:00 p.m. As of today there is no pending business to go before the Committee. Unless something comes up in the next few days there will be no meeting this month.
Personnel and Insurance Committee: Alderman Mietzner stated there will be a Personnel Executive Session meeting on Monday August 7 at 6 p.m.
JADA:
Nothing to report at this time.
City Administrator Report:
McIntyre stated there will be an ad placed in the Heritage Corridor
booklet. Alderman Orr asked if he could
add the City’s website to the ad.
McIntyre will check.
The downtown façade ordinance has been generating interest.
Attorney’s Report:
Attorney Mahoney had nothing to report
at this time.
Alderman Hermes made a motion and Alderman Orr seconded to Adjourn
the Meeting at 7:14 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
