The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. with the pledge to the flag.
The clerk called the roll finding the following Aldermen physically present: Hermes, Orr, Hall, Combes, Hoppe, and Studer.
Aldermen Mietzner and Gilmour were not present.
Alderman Orr made a motion and Alderman Combes seconded to appoint Sheryl Puracchio as Acting City Clerk. All yes. Motion passed.
Alderman Studer made a motion and Alderman Hall seconded to Approve the minutes of August 7, 2007 meeting and have them placed on file. All yes. Motion passed.
Mayor’s Report: The Mayor had nothing to report at this time.
Citizen’s Comments: None at this time.
Planning and Zoning Committee:
The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
Health, Safety, Buildings, Grounds & Parks Committee: Nothing to report at this time.
Water, Sewer, Streets & Alleys Committee: Nothing to report at this time.
Next scheduled meeting is set for Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 5:30 p.m.
Police and ESDA Committee: Nothing to report at this time.
Next scheduled meeting is set for Monday, September 10, 2007 at 5:30 p.m.
Finance/Administration/Land Acquisition Committee: Alderman Hermes made a motion and Alderman Studer seconded to Approve the July Payables in the amount of $21,487.03 and the July Collector’s Report in the amount of $203,531.60. All yes. Motion passed.
Next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 6:30 p.m.
Ordinance and License Committee: Alderman Orr held the first reading of the electronic attendance ordinance. He asked that all council members review it and to please respond with any comments on it or even if they felt it was necessary.
Alderman Orr made a motion and Alderman Hoppe seconded to Approve Ordinance #07-08-21-01, an Ordinance Authorizing the Execution of an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement between the City of Wilmington and the Board of Education of Wilmington District #209-U. Hermes Abstained, all others yes. Motion passed.
Alderman Hoppe made a motion and Alderman Hermes seconded to Approve Ordinance #07-08-21-02, an Ordinance Authorizing the Sale of Personal Property by the City of Wilmington. All yes. Motion passed.
Next scheduled meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.
Personnel and Collective Bargaining Committee: Nothing to report at this time.
City Administrator Report: Puracchio stated that the final analysis has been completed for the landfill; the next step will be a meeting with IEPA. Strand has completed the sewer plant plan review and has met with Rogina. There is one point that they differ on and they will be presenting that to city officials and the general contractor for an opinion.
Attorney’s Report: Attorney Eric Hanson had nothing to report at this time.
Executive Session: Nothing at this time.
