DISCUSSION: Minutes
ACTION: Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Strong seconded to open the meeting at 5:32 p.m. All yes. Motion passed.
Alderman Orr made a motion and Alderman Johnston seconded to approve the minutes as presented and have them placed on file. All yes. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION: Update on Sewer Plant
ACTION: McIntyre stated that paperwork has all been filed. Puracchio gave an overview on the funding of
the plant and stated that Rogina Engineers are saying the plant will be
operational in early 08.
DISCUSSION: Maintenance Update – Intake Valves
& Well
ACTION: Jeffries stated that he will now
budget to have the intake valves cleaned every two years instead of three. The well is in “tip-top” shape.
DISCUSSION: Cherveny-Chesson Ct. Drainage Ditch
Issue
ACTION: Cherveny presented his case on the drainage issue that exists on his property. He purchased the lot in April 04. He has researched the Illinois Drainage Law and has had several conversations with City Engineer Art Benner.
Cherveny suggested that the City extend the tile, grade area and create detention on the lot next to his.
The Committee directed McIntyre to look into this and respond to Cherveny in a timely manner.
DISCUSSION: Hydro-Stop
Machine
ACTION: Jeffries stated that the machine and fittings will cost $49,489. The City budgeted $50,000 for the machine from the bond. At present the City has to pay $3,000 to have someone provide this service.
The Committee will recommend to the Council to approve the purchase of the Hydro-Stop Machine.
DISCUSSION: Compound
Meter for Dow Chemical
ACTION: Jeffries explained that the City needs this meter in order to get correct reads. The meter costs $3,087.50
Alderman Gilmour made a motion and Alderman Hermes seconded to purchase a compound meter for $3,087.50 for Dow Chemical. All yes. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION: Downtown
Lights
ACTION: Orr spoke with Eric Fisher and Mike Cripe. Orr directed the Rotary to purchase the lights since this was their project. The question is who has the light information? Orr and Puracchio will research this.
DISCUSSION: Jackson
Street Parking Signs
ACTION: Orr stated there was on ordinance in place to have parking signs on this street. He will research this.
DISCUSSION: Antenna
Proposal
ACTION: McIntyre will send contract to attorney for approval to move ahead with ratifying it. The Committee directed McIntyre to add that the City is not responsible for supplying a tower if the existing water tower has to come down.
DISCUSSION: Sidewalk
Project
ACTION: The list has been distributed to all aldermen. Aldermen were requested to add to the list. Johnston had additions and will bring in. Puracchio added a sidewalk area from a resident request.
DISCUSSION: Lawnmower
ACTION: City engineer Benner provided the committee with the options that State purchasing has available. Van Duyne will review when he returns from vacation and make recommendation to committee.
DISCUSSION: Miscellaneous
ACTION: truck traffic in residential areas – Orr brought up the fact that trucks are using his residential street instead of the designated truck route. The Committee directed McIntyre to contact ITL to make them aware their trucks are violating the designated truck route.

ACTION: Alderman Johnston made a motion and Alderman Strong seconded to go into Executive Session at 6:25 p.m. to review past executive session minutes. All yes. Motion passed.
