1. IKE Grant (North Kahler Road) Update:

There will be a neighborhood meeting scheduled later in January to provide an update to the residents within the Kahler Road area. McClure engineering completed the survey work and is preparing preliminary design plans to present to the residents at the meeting. The objective is to have the engineering design completed by the end of March and prepare the bid specifications in April and award construction contract in May to begin work in June.

2. Weather Watchers Program Schedule:

ESDA Director Dennis Housman has scheduled weather watchers in-service to be held at City Hall on Thursday, January 12, 2012.  This meeting will begin at 6 PM and will last for a couple of hours. 

3. Employee Health Insurance Premium Renewal

Open enrollment period has begun and our insurance representative has two (2) dates schedule to meet with employees if they have any questions. Enrollment period ends January 25, 2012.

4. Local 150 Training Facility update

Local 150 Training Facility has received their FAA permit for their proposed Wind Turbine Training Tower and Wind Turbine energy project. A model ordinance regulating the siting of wind energy conversation systems will be presented for discussion and review at the Ordinance and Licensing Committee Agenda on 1/10/2012. Local 150 reviewed the model ordinance and is okay with the language.

5. Wilmington Coalition for a Healthy Community – Alcohol Server Training

WCHC and the City is sponsoring STEPS Training for Safe & Profitable Sales and Service on January 23, 2012 from 9am – 1pm at the Wilmington Fire Protection District Training Room.
