12.01 Ward boundaries established--Election district.

The city is divided into four wards to be known as the First, Second, Third and Fourth Wards, respectively, and bounded and described as follows:

On the North by the North City Limits; on the East by the East City Limits; on the West by the center thread of the main channel of the Kankakee River; and on the South by a line commencing at the intersection of the center line of Canal Street as the same is extended Westerly and the center thread of the Kankakee River; thence Easterly along said center line of Canal Street as extended to the center thread of Forked Creek, thence upstream along the center thread of Forked Creek to the center line of Route 53, (commonly known as Baltimore Street), thence Easterly along the center line of Route 53 continuing until the East City Limits.

On the North by the South Boundary line of the First Ward as described herein; on the East by the East City Limits; on the West by the center thread of the Main Channel of the Kankakee River, (commonly known as the Mill Race) thence Southerly downstream along the center thread of the East Channel of the Kankakee River commencing at the Main Dam; thence Easterly along said center line of Barnes Drive; thence Easterly along West Kahler Road to the center line of Kankakee Street, thence Northwesterly to the center line of Laurel Street as the same is extended Easterly to the City limits.

On the North by the South line of the Second Ward described herein; on the East by the East City Limits; on the South by the South City Limits; on the West by a line commencing at the intersection of Laurel Street and Kankakee Street; thence South to the center line of Water Street; thence Southwesterly along Water Street to the City limits.

On the North by the North City Limits; on the West by the West City Limits; on the South by the South City Limits; on the East by the Western boundaries of the First, Second and Third wards respectively.
